Is your organization’s end of fiscal year March 31st? To ensure that you can get your donations in time, our team has put together some useful tips to help you with the ordering process.

Why prepare? Products may go out of stock

Many nonprofits have fiscal years ending in March, so we typically experience a spike in product requests this month. To ensure your organization can obtain the tech products you need, we recommend placing orders early before digital products go out of stock.

Ordering Tips!

1. Update your account information

  • If you need to make big changes to your account - like your email, shipping address or main contact person, email us so we can update it for you.

2. Retrieving your password

  • If you have forgotten your password, simply click on "Log in" on the top right hand side of the screen and select the "Forgot Your Password" link. Enter your email and click "Send new password". A one-time log in link will be sent to the email on your TechSoup Canada account and you will be able to create a new password.

3. Be careful with orders: there are no refunds

  • Most donated products are non-refundable and non-exchangeable once payment is complete - even in the case of a wrong order. So please be very careful when placing an order. Make sure you have the right version, language and product before you make a payment.

4. Be aware of Donor Program restrictions and guidelines

  • All of our donor programs have different restrictions to the eligibility of each organization as well as the number of licenses and frequency of ordering. Make sure you verify your organization and program qualification status (click on "My Account" after you log in) and find out how many licences you can request.

March Extended Hours

We understand the urgency for placing these orders by March 31st. In addition to our regular phone hours, we are extending phone hours on Tuesday, March 30th, and Wednesday, March 31st, from 10am to 5pm EST.

NOTE: Office Standard 2019 for Windows cannot be installed directly from the Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC). However, Office Standard 2016 can still be installed directly from the VLSC.

Office for Mac is a suite of Microsoft Office products for Mac computers. This donation provides one license for installing the software on a single device.  You can choose to download the current version (Office 2019) or previous version (Office 2016).


QuickBooks Premier Canadian Edition 2021, 1 User License (Includes Nonprofit Edition)

Admin fee: $51/year for 1 user
Retail value: $600/year for 2 users

This donation provides one user license for QuickBooks Premier 2020. The license allows the software to be installed on both a home computer and a portable computer, but the software can only be used on one computer at a time. Organizations that require more than one license can request the three-user version through TechSoup Canada.

NOTE: The Payroll module is not included in this donation. Features such as payroll management can be purchased directly from Intuit Canada for additional fees.


DocuSign Standard Edition (Perpetual Subscription)

Admin Fee: $120
Retail value: $396 per year

DocuSign Standard Edition is a web-based service that allows you to upload and send documents for electronic signature. Signers do not need a DocuSign account to sign documents. You and the signers can view, download, and print completed documents at any time.

This offer provides a perpetual subscription to DocuSign Standard Edition for one user. The license allows the user to send up to 100 documents a year.


Tableau Desktop Professional

Admin fee: $78 for 2 year
Retail Value: $840 per year

Tableau Desktop Professional is data analysis and visualization software. This donation provides a two-year license for one user. The user may use the software on up to two devices during this time.


Bitdefender Internet Security, 1 User

Bitdefender Internet Security is security software that protects computers from viruses, spam, and other online threats. This donation provides a subscription for use of the product on one computer for one year.

Veritas Backup Exec

Veritas Backup Exec 21 (previously known as Symantec Backup Exec)

Retail Value: $588 (Silver licensing)

Veritas Backup Exec, previously known as Symantec Backup Exec, is backup and recovery software that runs on Windows Server. This donation provides one license for Veritas Backup Exec 20. One Backup Exec license allows the Backup Exec server to back up any number of devices. Only one license is required per organization.
